If we remember at least 5-6 years ago the cloud storage service was not that popular and many used to still store photos, videos, music, etc.

But the short answer is: it’s not really suitable as a backup storage. To this day the using a cloud storage service is the most common, above all because there is a large number of services from which we can choose, In addition to the fact that many of the services we use usually offer us their own service, such is the case of email services, say Microsoft with Outlook, Google with Gmail, Yandex with their service, just to mention a few. I have a working setup now by using rclone (which supports the pcloud API) to serve my pcloud space via sftp. It cost me 500 USD at the time, so it has saved me some money but cost me quite some nerves. I have had a 4TB lifetime account for five years now. If you want to know more about the kinds of problems I have been havin, just search pCloud on this forum. Another typical pattern is to say that they don’t suppprt duplicacy… Then again they don’t really offer support for other parts of their product either… Also, I explicitly asked them about webdav before I purchased my lifetime plan (and they confirmed), so the fact that some support agents sometimes claim thatI webdav is not supported, tells you something about the methods they use to get rid of customers who insist on having their problem solved. Last time I interacted with pcloud support, they told me that webdav is not even officially supported, just a kind of bonus feature that they don’t really offer support for. Yes, I certainly can comment on that: it’s true.
